Introduction
'Transforming Futures' was commissioned by the UWE Centre for Music to celebrate the launch of UWE Bristol's 2030 strategy. The music is written by Philip Harper, a graduate of Bristol University. The libretto is written by Ellie Potts, currently a student of Creative and Professional Writing at the University of the West of England. The work is dedicated to the story of Isambard Kingdom Brunel, his iconic suspension bridge, the impact he had on Bristol and how we can be inspired to help our future and that of others.
Transforming Futures will receive its first public performance at St George's on Wednesday 16th March 2022 as part of The Centre for Music's Festival of Sound.
